     Congratulations to Our August/September

Customer of the Month:

Ron Jolly of Martin Resorts

We've all heard of Christmas in July, but the spirit of the season extends through August only at Pismo Bob's. Perhaps you guessed it (or maybe you didn't)-- Ron Jolly of Martin Resorts is the newest Customer of the Month at Pismo Bob's.

Ron says he shops at Pismo Bob's for three reasons: convenience, product knowledge, and variety. He finds that Pismo Bob's is the only one-stop shop in town, and enjoys having in-depth conversations with our employees about the thermodynamics of our toilet flappers (among other intelligent things).

Unlike the Nobel Peace Prize, this prestigious honor doesn't come easy. It can take years of committment, and sometimes even some downright begging. But this month, Pismo Bob could find no better candidate than longtime customer Ron Jolly. Dedication, ability, and charm are just three of many reasons why Ron was (over)qualified.

A true renaissance man, Ron is known for doing everything. Don't let his supreme modesty fool you- Ron taught for 13 years as a professor at VA Commonwealth University, owned and operated a convenience store, and even ran a sawmill at different points in his life. Nowadays, Ron is committed to his job as Chief Facilities Engineer (AKA Head Dude) at Martin Resorts where he has worked for 8 years. And believe me, this position is truly as important as it sounds.

When he is not working, you might find Ron in the shop, kindling his passion for woodworking, or out sailing on the most treacherous seas, playing a game of hopscotch with danger as he listens to the Beach Boys. Yes, although originally from Virginia, he sometimes wishes "they all could be California girls." Rumor has it that he is considering naming his next sailboat the S.S. Pismo Bob in honor of his favorite hardware store, but rumors aren't always completely true, so keep it on the DL.

Ron also enjoys shopping at Pismo Garden Art (next door to Pismo Bob's) because he loves our large selection of palm trees and fountains. And when he has that inkling for a fine cup o' joe, he travels no farther than Utopia Bakery & Cafe, which conveniently opened right next door to Pismo Garden Art.

If you're not completely captivated by his superior knowledge of hardware, you might just be taken aback by his raw intelligence. Ron always remains confident in his abilities and never completes any job that is below his extraordinarily high standard of perfection.

Ron always keeps his cool, and somehow managed to stay collected when he was apprised of this honor. (Others in the past have had to be revived from a state of shock). But when you're good at everything, what can't you expect? As Ron himself likes to say, "It is what it is."

Congrats, Ron!
